On 11th July, 1962, Kunti Moktan was born in Darjeeling. Her first song was recorded in All India Radio when she was at the age of 15. Here second song was recorded in Radio Nepal when she was 18. At the age of 21, she married her childhood friend. He was a Sheela Bahadur Moktan. He was a lover too. In their music classes they used to meet regularly.
Still after 31 years of singing she still gets nervous while performing on the stages.
Currently she teaches music in a total of 12 schools all around Kathmandu Valley.
